Happening in Shangai today was the Mobile Security Conference (MOSEC) co-hosted by famous Chinese Pangu Jailbreak Team and hacker group PoC from Korea. Right after the Pangu delivered their presentation captioned The Lost Land of the Chain of Trust on iOS, before ending of the show, they showed off their “One More Thing” – the extremely highly anticipated working jailbreak on the latest iOS 10 beta showing Cydia running on iOS 10 device.
From the photos below, it is clear that Cydia is working normally on iOS 10 and is recognized as a frequently used app in the Siri App Suggestions Widget. Apparently, there had been quite some work done with the Cydia App on this device well before this demo already.
A live tweet from PoC told us that Pangu showed one more demo about privacy problem in iOS 9.3.2. Followed by that, Some rumor claimed that Pangu answered on spot to the audience that they will be releasing iOS 9.3.2 jailbreak very soon, said to be within the week. However, PoC has dismissed this rumor. On another hand, PP, Pangu’s partner, who previous predicted unlikely a release of iOS 9.3 jailbreak, refused to comment on this claim in our private conversation.
And according to a recent report from China, one of Pangu members indicated that it is more difficult to jailbreak as iOS security level increases. However, Pangu has obtained important vulnerabilities in iOS 10 beta 1, which are yet patched by Apple. But he is not sure what will happen in future betas.
So what’s your take on this exciting news? Are you surprised that Pangu is still working on iOS jailbreak despite of a really long silence after their iOS 9.1 jailbreak in March?
