Just now, the update for Shazam App for iOS has dropped in the App Store for this, right ahead of when you can possibly receive your Apple Watch this Friday. For music lovers and for those who are like me that captures music when I do shopping in retail stores, you should be utilizing this app quite a lot from time to time. Here are the features of Shazam for Apple Watch.

Launch Shazam on your Apple Watch and:

  • Find out what song is playing in seconds
  • Follow along with the lyrics
  • See your past Shazams at a Glance
  • Turn on Auto Shazam so we find tunes for you
  • Use Handoff on Apple Watch and iPhone to buy
  • the song on iTunes, watch videos, and much more

Below are not official but a concept of Shazam Apple Watch design also worth checking out.

  1. I’ve heard that it won’t work with just the watch. You’ll have to have your phone nearby, as the Shazam app on the watch will use the microphone on the iPhone, not the watch.

Yes and No. Certainly all third party apps depend on the iPhone nearby with a connection. But Shazam will use the microphone on the watch. I tested it out many times with my phone in the pocket and it can recognize the song correctly. You can give it a try
